I see in the print preview that cura 1. prints the inner wall 2. then adds on odd extra thin wall WebCura has a preset of 0.3 millimeters, so this is quite a thick first layer. Important to know: The initial layer thickness is different from the bottom and top layer thicknesses. The latter refer to the thickness of solids that are printed before the airier fill is created.

WebBasically you want the "shell thickness" to be a multiple of your nozzle size. So since your nozzle is 0.4 mm then a setting of 1.2 mm would be 3 walls thick. Changing the "bottom/top thickness" will adjust how many layers is placed on the bottom/top of your part. That relates to your layer height. WebThe model contains several very narrow blades that are only about 0.35mm thick. If you click “Edit Process Settings”, you can see that the default settings that were included in the factory file use a nozzle diameter of 0.4mm. This means that the blades of our turbine wheel are actually smaller than the nozzle that we are printing them with!

Shell thickness is how thick the outer walls will be and should be a multiple of you nozzle size. That's why you will have a cap as 0.4 x 2 = 0.8 and it will give a gap to make it 1mm if your nozzle is still set to 0.4 in cura.
